AFP Ohio believes the passage of Issue 5 today was a loss for taxpayers' financial freedoms denying Ohioans the ability to make their own financial decisions privately without their loan records being tracked in a statewide government database.  By passing Issue 5, Ohioans overturned current law allowing state citizens to privately and confidentially take out small temporary payday loans whenever they deem it necessary.  Issue 5 has basically eliminated this loan option, which is less expensive than credit card late fees or bounced checks which, for some, is the only other option.
