It was announced today that President Bush will nominate Edward Schafer, a former two-term Republican governor from North Dakota, to be his next secretary of agriculture.
Schafer was the first North Dakotan to sign Americans for Prosperity’s petition to place an initiated measure of the 2008 general election ballot to reduce the state individual income tax by 50% and the state corporate income tax by 15%.
