2009 Defending the American Dream Summit

AFPF’s 2009 Defending the American Dream Summit was a tremendous success, with more than 2,100 grassroots activists from across the country pouring into Washington, D.C. for two days of grassroots training and networking. We had a great time getting to know some of our Kansas activists, and we’re sorry more AFP-Kansas members weren’t able to come.

AFP-Kansas and the Flint Hills Center for Public Policy are sponsoring a Wichita film screening for the documentary "Not Evil Just Wrong" as part of the nationwide premiere Oct. 18. According to research by AFP-Kansas policy director Trent Sebits, Kansas has one of the lowest teacher-to-supervisor ratios in the region. That means more of the state's education budget is going toward administrative costs than in many other states.
