This weekend Senator Ben Nelson has done the exact opposite of what thousands of Nebraskans have told him they wanted; Senator Nelson expressed support for, in his words, a ‘government-run option’ for health care. Health care reform is important, there are in deed millions of Americans who cannot afford adequate coverage. But what Senator Nelson is hearing from Nebraskans is that the solution is not more government involvement.

You have probably seen supporters of Washington-run health care call Nebraskans just like you ‘astroturf’ or ‘fake’ grassroots. The idea that it is somehow fake, or in the words of Speaker Nancy Pelosi ‘un-American’ to disagree with our elected leaders shows how desperate liberals have become on the health care debate.
