Nevada has amazing growth. But like any great boom, the potential for a bust is always a tax hike away.

We’ve just heard a pleasing rumor, which we thought we’d relay: for those of you in Congress who keep taxing and spending, bad news… Santa Clause pays taxes…so expect a large lump of coal in place of your I-Pod this year.  

...but it's just so true.  

We just love our tax dollars being spent on generating useless...er, interesting trivia. It really makes us feel good about the federal government's fiscal priorities when the Census Bureau takes time to watch us gorge on Turkey and hot dogs.

Where is it that government is truly responsive to the needs and wants of the people? Certainly not at the federal level, and very rarely at the state level. It seems the best place to find attentive, responsible politicians is in cities and counties, where there’s nowhere to hide from angry taxpayers.
