An initiative petition is circulating that will create a Taxpayers’ Bill of Rights in the State of Oklahoma. The initiative, modeled after Sen. Randy Brogdon’s (R-Owasso) legislation, would limit government spending to the sum of inflation plus population growth. Furthermore, the proposal does away with the Rainy Day Fund, which has become a slush fund for the Governor and the Legislature, and creates a true emergency fund and a budget stabilization fund.
For information on where you can go to sign the petition, call Jeff Johnson in Tulsa at 918/712-9600, Lorraine Horner in Edmond at 405/285-5766 or Linda Howard in Oklahoma City at 405/699-7771.
