costofhotairAmericans for Prosperity is asking all of Arizona’s elected officials to pledge not to support any climate bill that includes a tax increase.

 

Most of the global warming bills pending in Congress and in the Arizona Legislature involve massive tax increases. That includes cap-and-trade bills, which attempt to hide tax increases in a morass of new regulations and bureaucratic red tape.

 

The first Arizona official to sign AFP’s No Climate Tax Pledge is Congressman Jeff Flake. We have seven other Congressmen, two US Senators, 90 state Legislators, and hundreds of local officials who need to get on board.

 

Under the terms of the Pledge, officials can still support climate legislation, as long as any revenue increases are offset, dollar for dollar, by reductions in other taxes. There is no good reason for any official to refuse to sign the Pledge.
