There they go AGAIN!

The big government, big spending liberals are at it again, slinging around all sorts of misinformation and scare tactics about the effects of a Taxpayers Bill of Rights.  Mainly they claim that TABOR is destroying Colorado.

In his typical non-committal fashion, Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry urged Oklahomans to use caution when considering an initiative petition for the Taxpayers Bill of Rights.  He said Colorado's experience with TABOR is worrisome.  "I think we have to be very careful and proceed very cautiously because of the problems that resulted in Colorado, where this movement began.

Isn't it just like a big government, big spending liberal to worry about taxpayers getting $3.5 billion of their own money back?

Ken Neal, Editorial Page Editor for the Tulsa World claims that TABOR has been so destructive in Colorado that it has given rise to a rebellion against TABOR.

This just isn't true, says Sen. Randy Brogdon (R-Owasso), in a press release and an op-ed piece recently submitted.

"You will hear from the opponents of TABOR that this legislation is “just like the one in Colorado” which has “wreaked havoc” in education, health care, and the entire state budget. Those who espouse such a notion are either being disingenuous or just ignorant of the facts. In either case I want to present the facts on this very important matter and ask you to judge for yourself." Click to see full text of Sen. Brogdon's statement.

In Oklahoma, the state budget has doubled over the past 12 years and increased by 12% just last year.  Did your income increase by 12% last year?  Has it doubled recently?  If it has, you are truly blessed, but I bet you want to keep more of it.
