SHAHEEN (AGAIN) . Another conservative group is going after Jeanne Shaheen in its issues advocacy role.
Last month, the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, a 501c(3), began a series of about a dozen "grassroots training sessions" across the state with a goal of encouraging citizens to "contact their elected officials to advocate for small, more streamlined government and great government transparency."
The next session is planned for Aug. 28 in Conway and a state House candidates forum is slated for Sept. 2 in Windham.
The legally separate Americans for Prosperity 501c(4) issues advocacy group today will launch a 60-second radio ad on no fewer than 21 stations in New Hampshire and Boston.
The ad quotes from a recent New Hampshire Union Leader editorial about Shaheen's energy policy saying that, "When it comes to reducing the price of oil, Jeanne Shaheen 'simply has no idea what she is taking about.'"
The ad urges listeners to call Shaheen and "tell her you don't want higher gas prices" and to "support domestic oil production and energy independence."
(Editor's note: When this column was first posted, the 501c(3) and (4) identifications above were reversed.)
