I continue to be amazed that no one is really talking about the true ideological difference between the two major candidates in the this Presidential election. That real difference socialism, as revealed in Obama’s “spread the wealth around” comment to Joe the plumber.
Yet, somehow, there is no real public discussion about Obama’s policy ideas as related to the failed ideology of socialism. I wonder why that is?
Is it because socialism is no longer a relevant topic of debate in America? If so, then why?
Could it be that too many Americans are getting something that they perceive as being free from government, like stimulus checks?
Could it be that Republicans and Democrats in Congress, along with the President have slowly and consistently enacted policies that are anti freedom, anti capitalist and the people are simply desensitized to the concept of socialism as it affects their lives personally, like Wall Street bail out packages?
Has our educational system so turned to the PC concept of socialist thinking that it is no longer seriously debated in classrooms, thereby depriving generations of American students of a historical perspective to compare it to the capitalist principles are founders believed in?
Or is it because McCain’s campaign, the MSM and even most alternative media aren’t willing to focus on this deeply troubling trend because it is too hard to understand and isn’t sexy enough?
McCain is missing an opportunity here to tie the failed ideas of socialism in world history to Obama’s ideas, which could be a game changer, not for the Presidential election, but for the future survival of the American dream. You would think that McCain would be willing to draw such distinctions, especially since he understands how powerfully socialism affects freedom, something he fought and suffered for.
You see the key to defeating socialism’s resurgence in America is to get the average American like Joe the plumber to understand what it means to them personally and their families future. Loss of freedom, higher taxes and the destruction of the American dream is what they need to be made aware of with comparisons between the two governance systems. When people figure out that socialism is not in their best interest, then they will rebel against those who preach it’s virtues.
Unless we have that discussion in America, then our nation will ultimately fall into the same malaise as so many nations who have tried to repackage the destructive philosophy of socialism.
It is highly relevant, so lets debate it.
