This historic, regional political event will take place on April 17, 2008 at the Schwartz Center, on the campus of Cape Fear Community College in downtown Wilmington. Doors will open at 5:00 PM for a ‘meet and greet’ reception for the community. At 6:00 PM the ‘live’ event will commence. Segment one for Republican Candidates for Governor will run from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Segment two for Democratic Candidates for Governor will run from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.
The Big Talker FM, southeastern North Carolina’s number one Talk Radio station, will be broadcasting ‘live’ to southeastern North Carolina. WWNC, host Matt Mittan, will be broadcasting ‘live’ to western North Carolina. The Cape Fear Community College Film & Video Department will be producing and filming the event. And, WWAYTV3 will be directing then re-broadcasting the event throughout southeastern North Carolina up to the May 6th primary!
This event, held during the 50th Anniversary celebration season for Cape Fear Community College, will include student ambassadors, student interns, and members of the International Firefighters Association as greeters. The Panel will include Curtis Wright, Host of the Morning Beat on The Big Talker FM; Steve Rondinaro, senior Anchor for WWAYTV3; and Professors Autumn McGrimsey and Greg Arey of the Political Science Department at Cape Fear Community College. Our print media partners, The Brunswick Beacon and The Pender Post will be soliciting questions from their subscribers in the weeks prior to the forum. And, as always, our ‘live’ audience will have an opportunity to participate in asking the candidates questions!
