MILWAUKEE – Stop spending money we don’t have. That’s the message Wisconsin citizens are sending, according to a new poll commissioned by Americans for Prosperity and the Tarrance Group. The poll also states that Wisconsin residents were not in favor of taking federal money, with almost 4 times as many people saying we should cut spending to deal with the current economic crisis.
MILWAUKEE – The premier free market grassroots organization in Wisconsin has announced their 2nd Annual Defending the American Dream Summit, to be held on March 7th at the Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee. This year’s summit will focus on important issues facing the state of Wisconsin today and will include many great speakers, from members of the press to members of Congress. Americans for Prosperity hopes that this summit can inform and inspire the citizens of Wisconsin to help bring affluence back to a state that has been hammered with taxes and out of control spending.
MILWAUKEE – Wisconsin continues to fight a budget deficit during these difficult times, and it’s no wonder why, according to Americans for Prosperity, a free market advocacy group. Enrollment in state health care programs such as BadgerCare Plus has increased by 35% in the past six years, leading to a $1.4 billion budget deficit for the next two years. All this comes as lawmakers discuss expanding the program to cover another 40,000 people.
MILWAUKEE – Americans for Prosperity laments Wisconsin state regulators’ recommendation to force a Green Bay utility company to lobby the Legislature in support of Gov. Doyle’s task force. Calling for 25% of utilities in Wisconsin to get their energy from renewable resources, the recommendation, if passed, would drastically increase the price of electricity and neglect to wean us off of the non-renewable sources.
