As the Virginia State Senate attempts to pass a budget with hundreds of millions in new taxes and fees, Americans for Prosperity will launch today a grassroots effort warning taxpayers of the potential expense and urging them to contact their legislators.

While Senators spend this week debating how to raise taxes on working Virginians, the Virginia chapter of Americans for Prosperity will take to the roads and visit communities all across Virginia with a simple solution, "Cut Spending."

As newly elected Governor McDonnell discusses the state budget with Virginia legislators and tries to salvage a $4 billion shortfall, the Virginia chapter of Americans for Prosperity unveiled several budget recommendations to the General Assembly today, finding specific areas where simple budget cuts will save billions of dollars.

In one week President Barack Obama will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark for the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference.  It is almost certain the President will commit the United States to an energy rationing scheme that makes us accountable to U.N. bureaucrats, kills jobs here, dramatically raises the price of gasoline and electricity, and infringes on our personal and national freedoms -- all in the name of an unproven radical global warming ideology.
